Regional Business Climate
As the world’s 11th largest economy, New York State is home to thousands of companies and is a state where businesses of all sizes can tap into a diversely talented and experienced workforce. New York is proud of its “pro-business” environment and highly competitive economic incentives. Employee wages in the state are below the national average and employee productivity is higher.
New York is also a leader in technology development. In the US, New York ranks:
- #2 for its number of high tech organizations (16,700)
- #3 in high-tech employment (364,887 jobs)
- #3 in high-tech payroll
- #4 in venture capital investments ($2.2 billion)
Saratoga County has one of the most supportive business climates in the State of New York and is part of a larger area called New York's Capital Region, which is home to more than one million people. Saratoga County continues to be one of the fastest-growing counties in New York State and has maintained the lowest county tax rates in the State for the past 12 years.
